Glastonbury Tor dominates the landscape here in Somerset. The town itself has been a centre of pilgrimage for thousands of years and continues to attract people of a wide range of beliefs. This makes for an open, friendly and sometimes eccentric community. This series is a portrait of some of the characters that are attracted to this modern-day mythical town.
BRUTON DRAG RACE
The small town of Bruton in Somerset has recently established an annual fayre. In keeping with many other eccentric British events such as worm charming, cheese rolling, knob throwing and bog snorkelling, Bruton's menfolk cross-dress for a short race around the town. Although a recent practise, started by a particular resident with a keen interest in cross-dressing, there is a rich history of cross-dressing in folklore in many parts of the world.
